  • SPECTO at PISA

Grand Slam Safety, LLC continues to provide safe and playable field protection at indoor facilities across the country. Our latest install is in Pennsylvania, PA at PISA (Pittsburgh Indoor Sports Arena). PISA wanted to protect athletes and spectators from action on the field. Grand Slam Safety was able to install 744’ of SPECTO Indoor Containment System to keep players from collisions with steel building support columns. The SPECTO system also keeps balls on the field of play, protecting spectators. Above the SPECTO mesh Grand Slam Safety installed sport netting to again protect the building and fans. Each install by Grand Slam Safety is unique and custom to the facility. PISA’s SPECTO system was installed using ground screws to anchor the bottom of the fence and steel support hangers (mounted directly to the steel support posts of the facility) to bring tension to the top of the system. One final piece to Grand Slam Safety’s install at PISA was our creation of custom soccer goals for the facility. These goals were custom built to fit perfectly into the tight sideline space at PISA. Grand Slam Safety prides itself on being able to adapt our SPECTO Fencing Systems to any application. Contact us to see how we can create a safe and playable facility for you. #Pennsylvania #SPECTOIndoorContainmentSystem

  • Asia gets its first SPECTO Fencing System

Just south of the city of Seoul, South Korea, lies acres of sprawling park land. This is Seoul Grand Park, home to a campground, amusement park, zoo, restaurants, gardens, the National Museum of Contemporary Art...and now a SPECTO Baseball Fencing System. Grand Slam Safety, LLC president, Bob Lyndaker and Director of Marketing, Bob Chamberlian have returned from our first international fencing system install. Grand Slam Safety’s Asia and South Korea sales representative, Jay Kim secured this premier location for the SPECTO system. After fourteen hours of plane travel, meetings in Japan, and travel through the bustling city of Seoul, the team reached Seoul Park. Local workers were on hand to un-crate the fence that was shipped from the US and lend a hand in the installation process. The ball field that the SPECTO system is to be installed on is still being constructed, so our installation was a dry run. After making sure the fence would properly fit the foundations and curvature of the field, it was taken down, and will be stored until the field is finished and play begins. “It was a great trip and smooth install,” said Bob Chamberlain, “the Korean workers were a great help.” “It was a unique and rewarding experience," said Bob Lyndaker. “South Korea is such a vastly different place than Croghan, NY.”

  • New Product is a Grand Slam at Grand Parks

Grand Slam Safety continues to lead the way in sport fencing innovation. We are pleased to announce the newest addition to our product line; the Sport Netting Curtain System. We are excited about this new netting system and the benefits it will bring to sporting venues. The 370,000 square foot Grand Park facility in Westfield, Indiana has installed the Sport Netting Curtain System. The Grand Park Event Center, one of the largest in the country, houses multiple indoor turf fields which need to be separated one from the other. Grand Slam Safety stepped up to the task of providing a unique curtain netting system for this huge facility. Our new Sport Netting Curtain System not only provides a barrier between sporting areas it also completely laterally adjustable. This means that the Sport Netting Curtain System can be extended to any opening size, locked in place and stay in that position until moved again. This added benefit of lateral adjustment allows facilities to create a custom field or opening of any size they desire. Grand Slam also installed their SPECTO Fencing System in a unique way at Grand Park. The facility was in need of barriers between the playing fields and the restaurant area on the second floor. These openings allowed restaurant patrons to look down on the field of play and watch games while they ate. The transparency of the SPECTO Fencing System mesh works perfectly to allow patrons to enjoy the unique experience of dining and watching a sporting event in safety. Finally Grand Park had asked Grand Slam Safety to provide them with a unique goal post option for the indoor football games which happen in the facility. The problem Grand Park faced was not having open space beyond the endzones on field to install traditional goal posts. Grand Slam Safety stepped up to the challenge and created not only a mesh goal post, but mesh goal posts that can be adjusted in size to accommodate high school or college/NFL specifications. With a simple adjustment, goal posts are transformed in size. Grand Slam Safety is staying on the cutting edge of sport facility netting and fencing needs. Our products are adaptable to any application and provide superior safety. Grand Slam Safety, LLC is revolutionizing the sport fencing industry. #SportNettingCurtainSystem #SPECTOIndoorContainmentSystem #Indiana

  • SPECTO Softball Fencing System Install in Connecticut

Grand Slam Safety, LLC is back in Connecticut installing anther great SPECTO fecning system. Ridgefield High School, in Ridgefield, CT, chose a SPECTO Softball Fencing System for their recent renovation. The Ridgefield High School Boosters commented, “Coaches love it, parents love it, and we are proud to the say that we have one of the top high school fields in the league, if not the state.” The Ridgefield High School Boosters went on to say, “When we first started investigating outfield fence options we had several factors to consider. The first was the safety of the girls. Second, we needed the flexibility to take the fence down for multiple sports that use the field. We also needed something that was substantial enough to withstand the wind at the site and last a full season without looking wimpy and cheap.” “Grand Slam Safety was the perfect solution by providing a very high quality fence, foul poles, and storage equipment… We would recommend Grand Slam Safety to anyone.” Thanks Ridgefield for your kind words. Enjoy your fence and we wish you many great seasons to come. #SPECTOBaseballFencingSystem #Connecticut

  • SPECTO Fencing - A Clear Advantage

Grand Slam Safety, LLC, recently updated the mesh used for the main section of the panels for SPECTO Safety Fencing Systems, switching from a 7x11 thread per inch mesh to a 9x9 thread per inch. Comparison of 9x9 mesh on left and 7x11 mesh on right The new mesh has an 18% increase in the openness of the weave, which results in a 18% decrease in wind resistance, enabling it to withstand higher wind speeds with no loss in the strength of the panel. The openness of the weave also gives an increase of visibility. 9x9 mesh on left offers more visibility than the 7x11 mesh on right This new mesh improves both the long-term weather stability and the immediate player/spectator visibility, while offering the same protection and flexibility that is the core of SPECTO Safety Fencing Systems. Grand Slam Safety, LLC is constantly looking for ways to improve the player and spectator experience as well as delivering the highest quality fencing for your needs. #fencepanels

  • SPECTO Advantages--Easy Installation of Panels in Existing Fences

At Grand Slam Safety, LLC, we value adaptability in both function and design. On a fence, a section might need to be changed out for a variety of reasons, including different doors needed in an indoor facility, signage on a ball field, or repairs. SPECTO Safety Fences offer the ability to change out individual panels without affecting the rest of an existing fence, both on SPECTO Baseball and Softball Fencing Systemsand SPECTO Indoor Facility Containment Systems. To exchange a panel, undo the hook and loop tape pocket around the top cable. Peel the panel down, separating the strips connecting the panel on the sides. Undo the cable pocket on the bottom, and remove the panel. To insert the new panel, reverse the process. Lay the panel out in front of the fence, facing down. Secure the hook and loop tape pocket around the bottom cable, starting at the corner. Pull the panel up over the top cable and fasten the hook and loop tape, again starting at the corner and working across to get tension on the panel, applying pressure to secure the hook and loop tape. Apply pressure on the side hook and loop tape to ensure it is fastened. The whole process can be completed by one person if necessary, in 10-20 minutes. It’s simple--SPECTO Safety Fences provide flexibility without compromising safety.
